I had two vacuums before getting the FoxAlien. My set up was good and my shop vac was really powerful. However the shop vac overheated my CNC room and I assumed it was too powerful. I had previously found a smaller vacuum was not powerful enough. The Fox Alien was perfect and the separator was smaller and more easily worked than my larger one.
I used the packing foam that was in the bottom of the shipping box in which to set and stabilize the separator which fell over when empty.

The extraction this gives is very good. I was a bit worried about how expensive it was but it does seem a quality product. Use it for carving and laser extraction. The separator seems to catch everything and the vacuum with the hepa filter does remove the smell. I have paired this with the 3S and is more than capable of keeping up. It does look good as well, the only very minor point is, if they offered it in orange to match the machine, that would make it look really good.

I have put the machine together, but haven't gotten around to doing any milling yet. But the quality is excellent. So I don't expect any problems.

Quieter than the shop vac once I turned it down. I replaced hose from vacuum to dust collector with larger diameter hose and I think now I'm getting better flow.

Located the second hose which was shipped inside the dust collection bucket, so rate at 5 stars now

This dust extractor, with cyclonic vaccum is awesome ! Work perfectly on my 4040XE, no more dust in my shop !
